A man is set to appear in court after stabbing another man in Merritt on Tuesday.
Merritt Mounties were called to the Nicola Valley Hospital after witnesses saw a stabbing take place at the nearby Merritt Community garden.
The suspect ran away from the area on foot, while the 42-year-old Merritt man walked into the emergency room with a stab wound to his torso.
The transported to Royal Inland Hospital in stable condition to be treated for his injuries.
Police Dog Services found the suspect nearby and was taken into custody without incident.
Merritt RCMP say Braden Douglas Jackson was charged with one count of Aggravated Assault, and is held in custody.
His next court appearance is set for a virtual bail hearing on November 7.
