Kamloops Mounties are looking for details on a black BMW which led to a tow truck being stolen earlier this week.
Officers responded to Highway 5 west of Kamloops at 5:25 am on October 30, where a tow truck was helping two people with a flat tire on a suspicious vehicle.
“As police arrived on scene and were talking with the tow truck driver outside of the vehicle, the two people from the BMW stole the tow truck and fled toward Merritt, with the BMW still attached,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson.
The BMW was recovered near Salmon Arm a short time later, with the tow truck found near Tappen, unoccupied.
Anyone with dash camera footage and information related to the tow truck after it was taken, or to the BMW leading up to the theft of the truck, is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.
