The Kamloops Blazers have traded a third veteran forward in as many days as they continue to stockpile draft picks and rebuild for the future.
The Blazers sent 19-year-old forward Connor Levis to the Vancouver Giants for three draft picks – a 2025 first round pick, Seattle’s second round pick in 2024, and a 2026 fourth round pick.
The Vancouver native put up 151 points (62 goals and 89 assists) in 195 career games with the Blazers. A prospect of the Winnipeg Jets, Levis was third in Blazers’ scoring this year, with 28 points (10 goals and 18 assists) in 37 games.
“We’re really happy to add an NHL drafted player with Memorial Cup experience to our forward group,” Giants General Manager Barclay Parneta said. “Connor was a big part of the winning culture in Kamloops and we look forward to him joining us on our road trip later this week.”
“We’d like to thank Connor for his four seasons with the Blazers and wish him the best moving forward,” Blazers Head Coach and General Manager, Shaun Clouston, added.
The Giants and Blazers have four more regular season games left, with Levis poised to make his return to Kamloops on March 2 and March 16. He will also face the Blazers on Feb. 24 and March 15 in Langley.
The Blazers also traded Shea Van Olm to Spokane and Dylan Sydor to Lethbridge this week with the WHL trade deadline set for 2 p.m. today, Jan. 10.
Connor Levis ends a five year run with the Blazers to go back home to Vancouver. A former 1st round pick of the organization.
Blazers gaining in essence two firsts in this deal. The Seattle 2nd as it stands now would be the 24th overall pick. That could fluctuate.
