One person was airlifted to hospital after a serious crash on Highway 97, southeast of Kamloops this morning.
BC Emergency Health Services and the RCMP both responded to the crash in the Monte Lake area shortly before 9 a.m..
“BC Highway Patrol and Vernon North Okanagan RCMP officers have responded to a serious collision involving two vehicles in the 3800-block of Highway 97 in Monte Lake,” said the RCMP in a short note to Radio NL at the time crews were dispatched.
“An air ambulance and four ambulances, including an advanced Life support ambulance, responded,” added BCEHS Public Information Officer, Brian Twaites. “Paramedics cared for and transported one patient by air ambulance to hospital in critical condition.”
Initial indications are that the two vehicle crash involved at least two people who were trapped in a vehicle.
It’s expected the RCMP will provide more details later on.
