Sun Peaks Resort says an adult man has died after an accident on the mountain today, though details are limited.

In a statement, the resort’s management team said the Sun Peaks Ski Patrol team was called to attend to an injured man who later succumbed to his injuries.

It is not clear what the nature of the accident was or when it happened.

“Out of privacy and respect, we will not be releasing any further information,” the statement said. “Sun Peaks Resort is cooperating with the ongoing RCMP investigation and the case is with the Coroners office.”

“We are deeply saddened by the loss of life of our guest and our thoughts are with their family and friends.”
