Radio NL has learned that one person was taken to Royal Inland Hospital after a shooting in the vicinity of the Ramada Hotel on Columbia Street in Kamloops.
Details about the incident – and the condition of the person shot – are not clear at this time, but witnesses on social media say the shooting happened just before 7 p.m., Monday, May 6.
Kamloops RCMP have not yet released details about Monday’s shooting.
It is the fourth shooting in Kamloops in the past five days, though its not clear if all of the shootings are connected.
Police were called to a report of shots fired in the 800-block of Sudbury Avenue on Saturday morning, May 4. They were also called to the 1200-block of 10th Street on Friday morning, May 3, and to the Star Lodge motel on Columbia Street on Thursday evening, May 2.
Mounties say no injuries were reported in any of the three previous incidents.
