Kamloops RCMP are asking for help in identifying a woman who is a suspect in an ongoing theft investigation.
Police say around 5:30 p.m. on May 12, an off-duty officer apprehended two woman who had allegedly stolen from a commercial location on the 1000-block of Hillside Drive, believed to be the Walmart superstore.
They say while the officer was “struggling with the first woman who was assaulting him, the second woman fled.
“As part of the investigation, police obtained a photo to release to the public with a request for assistance in identifying her,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said.
The woman is white with blonde hair, standing about five-foot-three with a stocky or stout build. She was wearing a yellowish or white top, blue jean shorts, and white shoes at the time. She also had a what appeared to be a black jacket, a pair of sunglasses, and some kind of a bag.
People with information are being told to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2024-14127.
