The Kamloops Blazers have added 19 year-old defenseman Rhett Ravndahl from the Brandon Wheat Kings in a Tuesday evening trade.
The Blazers surrender a fifth round pick in the 2026 WHL Draft to complete the transaction.
Ravndahl is from Birch Hills, Saskatchewan.
He’s played in 29 games with the Wheat Kings this season, with two goals and two assists.
The 6-foot-1, 185lb defender has played in 113 career WHL games split between Portland and Brandon, and is in his third WHL season.
The move sheds more light on an earlier move to send defenseman Layton Feist to WHL waivers with the acquisition of 20 year-old forward Beau Courtney from the Everett Silvertips.
The Blazers are also set to get back defenseman Matteo Koci after winning a bronze medal with the Czechs at the World Juniors.
Defenseman Harrison Brunicke is also getting closer to returning from injury – now listed day-to-day on the WHL injury report.
The Blazers also recently moved out D-man Nico Tsakumis for 17 year-old defenseman Jager Gugyelka and a 4th round pick.
Time will tell if the Blazers plan to make more moves ahead of Thursday’s (5PM PT) WHL trade deadline.
With the addition of Ravndahl, the Blazers roster currently sits at 14 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders.
