Entrance to the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre/via Interior Health
For the third time in less than two weeks, the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre is going to be unable to provide emergency medical services for more than two days straight.
Another 49 hour closure of the local emergency room in Lillooet began at 7am Wednesday.
The over two-day diversion is once-again putting additional ER pressure on Royal Inland Hospital, as those in need of in-person medical services are being directed to Kamloops — an over two-hour drive in normal weather conditions.
This is the 3rd time in the last 10 days that a 49 hour shutdown has been enacted in Lillooet.
It comes at the same time people in and around 100 Mile House have seen their emergency room services restored.
Interior Health was able to reopen the OMH emergency department at 8am on Wednesday, after shutting it down the night before at 7pm.
As per usual, no explanation has been provided by Interior Health as to the reasons for the closures.
