Kamloops Mounties are asking for public assistance in trying to figure out the circumstances which led to a grizzly discovery early this morning.
A paramedic crew with BC Ambulance just happened to be rolling by the 8th street and Tranquille area around 2am when they saw a fire burning right on next to a local building.
After Kamloops Fire Rescue extinguished the blaze, they discovered that there was body underneath what had been burning.
RCMP say it’s too early to determine if the person was dead before the fire started.

They are asking for anyone may have seen something taking place at the former Penny Pinchers location to give them a call.
“It is too early to determine the cause of the blaze or confirm whether criminality is suspected,” states S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP.
“At this point, we are asking area residents to contact police if they have CCTV cameras that capture the building at the north west corner of Tranquille Road and 8th Street (52 Tranquille Road), or the nearby areas.”
