Logan Stankoven has been named WHL Player of the Week for the week ending April 16, 2023.
The Blazers captain earned the nod after he put up seven points (three goals and four assists) in two games over the Portland Winterhawks as the Blazers lead the best-of-seven series 2-0.
Stankoven had a goal and an assists as the Blazers knocked off the Winterhawks 6-4 in Game 1 Friday night. He followed that up with his third career five-point playoff game – scoring twice and adding three assists – as Kamloops shut out Portland 5-0 in Game 2 Saturday.
It is the second Player of the Week nod for Stankoven this season. He took home the award after a nine point showing for the week ending Dec. 4, 2022.
Stankoven, who led the 2022 WHL Playoffs in scoring with 17 goals and 31 points in 17 games, is second in scoring with 16 points (seven goals and nine assists) in six games.
Connor Bedard leads all skaters with 20 points in seven games, though his Regina Pats were eliminated in a Game 7 by the Saskatoon Blades.
Stankoven and the Blazers are en route to Portland for Games 3 and 4 of their second round series Wednesday and Thursday this week.
Game 5, if needed, will be in Kamloops this Saturday night, April 22.
