Two Kamloops Blazers are listed in the final NHL Central Scouting rankings released Tuesday.
Forward Connor Levis is 75th among North American skaters, while Dylan Ernst is 26th amongst North American goaltenders.
Both Levis and Ernst have dropped slightly from their midterm rankings released in January – Levis was ranked 60th while Dylan Ernst was 15th.
Levis finished with career highs in goals (27), assists (40), and points (67) in 68 games last season, while Ernst led all WHL goaltenders with 38 wins in 53 games played. Ernst also finished with a 2.69 goals against average and .906 save percentage in 53 games played.
Other notable mentions were Kamloops native Sawyer Mynio, ranked 62nd among North American skaters, and Saskatoon Blades defenceman Tanner Molendyk, who is from McBride but lives in Kamloops, is ranked 28th.
Former Blazer Kaden Hammell – who was traded to Everett in the Olen Zellweger deal – is ranked 95th among North American skaters.
Regina Pats forward, Connor Bedard, remains the consensus first overall pick on NHL Central Scouting’s final ranking of North American skaters, while Leo Carlsson of Orebro in the Swedish Hockey League is the top ranked International skater.
The last WHL player taken first overall was Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Red Deer Rebels. He was taken by the Edmonton Oilers in 2011.
The Anaheim Ducks, who clinched last place in the 2022-23 NHL regular season, have the best odds to get the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NHL Draft (25.5 per cent).
The 2023 NHL Draft is scheduled to be held on June 28 and 29 in Nashville
