The Kamloops Blazers have signed 2007-born forward Tommy Lafreniere to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
Lafreniere was an eighth round pick of the Blazers in 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.
Originally from Quebec, the 16-year-old Lafreniere put up 39 points (nine goals and 30 assists) in 34 games with the Yale Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep team in the 2022-23 season.
“We would like to welcome Tommy and his family to the Kamloops Blazers organization,” Blazers Head Coach and General Manager, Shaun Clouston said. “We are excited to be a part of Tommy’s development over the coming seasons.”
Lafreniere is the seventh 2007-born player to sign with the Blazers. He joins goaltender Logan Edmonstone, defenseman Isa Guram, along with forwards Nathan Behm, Andrew Thomson, Zach Pantelakis, and Hudson Closson.
