The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has rescinded a pair of evacuation orders east and south of Kamloops.
Evacuation orders were lifted for the final 57 properties in the Turtle Valley area, near Chase.
All 264 properties in the area remain on evacuation alert due to the Bush Creek East fire. It flared up in the Sorrento area Tuesday night, leading the Columbia-Shuswap Regional District to issue an evacuation order.
All other evacuation orders and alerts in the vicinity of the Bush Creek East fire remain unchanged at this time.
The TNRD has also downgraded an evacuation order for seven properties south of Kamloops that were threatened by the Ross Moore Lake fire. Three properties remain on order, with 351 now on evacuation alert, as pictured here.
Earlier in the day, the BC Wildfire Service announced the extension of the area restriction order within the vicinity of the Ross Moore Lake wildfire.
The order, which was enacted on Aug. 17, is now set to expire at noon on Friday, Sept. 8, instead of noon tomorrow, Aug. 31.
The area restriction is located in-between the Coquihalla Highway and Highway 5A. It goes as far south as the Stump Lake area, with northern point located in the area of Anderson Creek.
Failure to comply may result in a violation ticket of $1,150.
