Harrison Brunicke will represent the Kamloops Blazers at the 2024 CHL Top Prospects Game next month.
The 17-year-old defenceman is one of 18 WHL players who will get a chance to boost their draft stock in front of NHL scouts on Jan. 24 in Moncton, New Brunswick.
In October, Brunicke earned a C rating in NHL Central Scouting’s preliminary players to watch list, indicating a possible fourth or fifth round draft pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, which is scheduled for June.
Brunicke has five goals and eight assists, giving him 13 points in 30 games this season.
Last year, he put up eight points (four goals and four assists) in 59 points as a 16-year-old.

Kelowna Rockets forward Tij Iginla, son of Blazers legend Jarome Iginla, will also play in the Top Prospects game next month.
The Lake Country native – who was traded by Seattle to Kelowna this summer – has 42 points (25 goals and 17 assists) in 32 games this season, and could be a first round pick in June.
The 40 players who were chosen today will be assigned to either Team Red or Team White in the new year. Leadership groups for both squads will also be announced in January.
The 2024 CHL Top Prospects Game will be aired on TSN and RDS, with the puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. local time, or 3:30 p.m. for us here in B.C.
