The Kamloops Mounties are looking for suspects, as well as any video of the neighborhood, after a North Shore resident woke up to a fire on their deck Thursday morning.
RCMP were called out to the home in the 200-block of Spruce Avenue at around 4:15am, after the person in the home heard a loud banging outside, then discovered a fire on their deck.
“The resident was able to quickly put out the fire with an extinguisher, then call police after locating what was described as a Molotov cocktail,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP Detachment spokesperson. “Luckily, no one was injured during this concerning incident, although there was some damage to the house’s deck and exterior.”
RCMP say numerous officers flooded the area, including a police dog, but were unable to locate any suspect.
“Investigators are asking anyone in the area, including those who live on streets neighbouring the alleyway, to please check their security and dash camera video to see if it captured any movement that could be related to this incident,” said Cpl. Evelyn.
Anyone with information is asked to reach out to the Kamloops RCMP detachment.
