A man is likely facing a number of charges, after police found him passed out in a vehicle near Bailey’s Pub on the North Shore on Tuesday morning.
“On June 18, 2024, around 10 a.m., Kamloops RCMP frontline officers attended a parking lot on the 1100-block of 8th Street, where a man was slumped over the steering wheel of a black car and reported as possibly impaired,” said the RCMP in a release.
RCMP say they found, among other things, a loaded handgun which had been flagged as stolen out of Texas.
“During the impaired driving investigation, officers located drug paraphernalia near the driver, as well as a loaded pistol,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. “The driver was the lone occupant in the vehicle and a person known to police.”
On top of a 24 hour driving prohibition for drug impairment, the suspect is also likely to face charges connected to the stolen gun.
