UPDATE 5:15 p.m. – The City of Kamloops says a landscape fire at the the Resource Recovery Centre on Owl Road in Valleyview has been extinguished.
Emergency crews from Kamloops Fire and Rescue and the BC Wildfire Service were called just after 3:30 p.m. Monday to an area near the Owl Road Dump.
“Crews remain on scene to complete clean up,” the City of Kamloops said, in an update. “Thank you, everyone, for your patience as we worked in the area.”
Pictures shared to social media showed what appear to be several spot fires near the facility at 400 Owl Road, though at this time, it is not clear what caused the fire.
