The Kamloops Blazers now have three players listed on NHL Central Scouting’s watch list.
They include Nathan Behm, Vit Zahejsky and Tommy Lafreniere.
17 year old Behm is listed with a B rating, which indicates a 2nd/3rd round draft candidate.
The Calgary, Alberta native is the leading scorer thus far for the Blazers, with 11 goals and 7 assists through the first 11 games he’s played this season.
Behm, who had a hat trick, while adding an assist on each of the Blazers’ three other goals in their Tuesday win over Victoria, currently ranks 2nd in the WHL in both goals and points.
Slightly down the list is 17 year old Vit Zahejsky, the Blazers’ 2nd overall pick from this year’s CHL Import Draft.
He’s been given a C rating, which indicates 4th/5th round potential.
The native of Plzen, Czechia has yet to play this season after sustaining an off-ice training injury.
He is expected to be inserted into the Blazers lineup sometime in November.
First year addition to the Blazers line up, Tommy Lafreniere, has also made the Watch List.
He’s been given a “W,” or “watch” rating, which does indicate a possible 6th/7th round selection.
The 17 year old from Whistler, BC, has already tallied seven goals this season in the 12 games he’s played.
Provided at least one of the three prospects is selected next year, it will be 14 straight Entry Drafts that a Kamloops Blazer will have been selected by a NHL club, the longest current streak of its kind in the Western Hockey League.
