The Kamloops Youth Soccer Association and Rivers FC have combined under one entity and will now be known as the Kamloops United Football Club (KUFC).
“It’s a unified approach strategy for building a football eco-system from the U-3 level all the way to semi-professional soccer in Kamloops,” said Kamloops United General Manager Lyle Dos Santos.
“It took a lot of time, a lot of brainstorming but we worked together collaboratively to build a new vision for Kamloops,” Dos Santos continued.
The rebrand has been unveiled along with a new logo featuring the colours of green, gold, black and white and a single lion.
“Green is for our home, McArthur Island where our office is and where we play our matches. Gold is for the golden hillsides of Kamloops in the summer. We put a single lion on to signify leadership. We have the position here as the largest soccer club in the Interior and the 7th largest in the Province.”
Both the Kamloops Youth Soccer Association Blaze and the Rivers FC brands will be discontinued.
Dos Santos says they have big plans for the future.
“We have big ambitions on what we want to accomplish. Out motto is semper fortis which means always courageous. Everything we do will be with ambition and courage.”
