More cash from the B.C Government to help Kamloops deal with the drug overdose crisis.
The River City has received a one time 100 thousand dollar grant from the NDP government for its CAT or Community Action Teams to increase awareness.
Acting Community and Social Development Supervisor Natalie Serl says, the cash is welcome.
“We’ll be able to help support community clean ups especially around needle disposal. We will be able to assist the exploration of different pilot programs for opiate replacement concepts. We’ll be able to do different types of social network groups supports say the Phoenix Centre, with the work they are doing healing circles and support groups.”
10 communities have CAT teams.
