Now that phase two of the Downtown Plan has wrapped up, the focus will be on land use options and what policies will be needed.
Community Planning and Sustainability Manager Jason Locke says they’ll now be sifting through all the community feedback.
“Next step is developing land use concepts, and policy directions. So these are high level policy directions and land use concepts twill help form the eventual development of the Downtown Plan. We’ll take that back out into the community hopefully sometime later this year, early next year, and get feedback. Are we on the right track, is there anything missing?”
Locke says the themes of what people want have remained consistent throughout- multi family housing, homelessness reduction, and community gathering spaces.
The final plan aims to be done by the spring of 2019.
