The Conservative MP for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo says she will be grateful for whatever role she is given in the Opposition caucus.
Cathy McLeod is back for her fourth term as a Member of Parliament, and was most recently the Critic to the Minister of Indigenous Affairs.
She says she’s sure Andrew Scheer will make the right choices when it comes to filling his Shadow Cabinet.
“He has a lot of members, and we’ll see how he believes that the role that the different members need to play, and that’s always been completely the role of the leader to determine that,” she said.
In her time in Ottawa, McLeod has also served as Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministers of Health, Labour and Western Economic Diversification, as well as National Revenue.
“I have always found that whatever role you are given, there is enormous opportunity,” she added. “I think right now, the most important thing for us to do is to do our job and do what we were elected to do, and that’s to be a strong official opposition.”
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is expected to reveal his cabinet sometime this month, and the House of Commons will reconvene on December 5.
