Kamloops native Greg Stewart has won a silver medal in shot put at the World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai.
Stewart threw 16.30 metres on his final throw in the men’s shot put F46 final. He broke his previous personal best of 15.82 metres on three of six throws, going 15.84 metres and then 15.87 metres before he finally cracked the 16 metre mark for the first time.
The gold medal went to American Josh Cinammo, who set a new world record with a throw of 16.80 metres.
