One man was taken to hospital today after a van crashed into a house on Lethbridge Avenue on the North Shore, just after 12 noon today.
RCMP Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says it appears the driver had a medical emergency behind the wheel, causing the vehicle the leave the road.
“It then drove through a fence, across a lawn and hit a house,” she said. “The driver was taken to Royal Inland Hospital as a precaution to be checked. His passenger did not sustain any injuries.”
Shelkie says the two people in the house at the time were also not injured.
“In this situation, it was strictly a medical condition,” Shelkie added. “It wasn’t a case of not paying attention to the road or disobeying traffic laws. It was simply a medical issue.”
The incident happened near the intersection of Twelfth Street and Lethbridge Avenue.
