Interior Health has declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at a long term care home in Kamloops.
The outbreak at The Hamlets at Westsyde comes after one staff member has tested positive for the virus. The outbreak is specifically in units C1 and C2
IH says no residents have tested positive for the virus and none have symptoms.
There are 109 long-term care beds in The Hamlets at Westsyde, located on Overlanders Drive. The facility is privately owned and operated.
This was one of two outbreaks of COVID-19 declared this afternoon at a long-term care home within the Interior Health Authority. In Penticton, an outbreak has been declared at The Village by the Station, a privately-owned care home with 100 beds, where one staff member has tested positive for the virus.
