School District 73 is reporting a COVID-19 exposure at the Twin Rivers Education Centre in Brocklehurst.
A letter from principal Cory Carmichael sent to parents yesterday, Feb. 2, says the exposure happened on Jan. 26, 27, and 28 and not Jan. 25, 26, and 27 as was first stated.
There are now ten schools in the Kamloops-Thompson School District with an active COVID-19 exposure, including 15 confirmed cases at Sa-Hali Secondary since Jan. 18.
Other schools with active exposures in Kamloops are Marion Schilling Elementary, Valleyview Secondary, Summit Elementary, Beattie Elementary, NorKam Secondary, Aberdeen Elementary, Arthur Stevenson Elementary, and Westsyde Secondary.
An exposure has also been reported at St. Ann’s Academy.
As has been the policy, school officials say if parents haven’t been contacted by public health teams, their kids are not at risk of developing COVID-19. If you have questions or concerns about COVID-19, you’re also asked to contact 811.
After 14 days without any further cases, exposures are no longer considered active by Interior Health.
