Merritt RCMP say upwards of $40,000 worth of firefighting gear was stolen from a storage shed near Nicola Lake last week.
Sgt. Josh Roda says police were called last Wednesday just after 9 a.m. to a storage shed on the Old Nicola Trail.
Roda says a property representative told police that the storage shed door was partly open and that the lock had been cut.
As many as three fire pumps and a wagon filled with nozzles and hoses and other accessories were taken from the shed.
It’s unclear exactly who the gear belonged to, and NL News has reached out to Merritt RCMP for more information.
Roda says a forensic specialist is now investigating, but anyone with information is being asked to call Merritt RCMP at 250-378-4262 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-22-8477.
