UPDATE: 10:15 a.m.
The Kamloops-Thompson School District now says students can return to class after what it called a major water main break this morning.
The City of Kamloops says the water main break happened early this morning and water was restored at 8 a.m. A video taken at the school shows water flooding the school field before the sun came up.
At 7:45 a.m, the school district asked parents and guardians to prepare other arrangements for students.
The district said just before 9 a.m., that school staff were able to return to work, and just after 10 a.m. it said students could return to class.
Further details on the break itself are unclear at this point.
