Some more positives on the COVID-19 front in the Kamloops area according to the latest data from the B.C. Centre for Disease Control.
There were 20 cases in the Kamloops Local Health Area during the week of May 23 to May 29 – the fourth straight week where new COVID-19 cases have been declining in the area which includes Kamloops, Sun Peaks, Chase, Barriere, Little Fort, Savona, Tobiano and Logan Lake, and the communities in between.
It comes after 22 new cases in the Kamloops LHA between the week of May 16 to May 22.
In fact, the number of new cases last week was holding steady for most of Interior Health – with the exception of Vernon, which saw a big jump in cases to 57 from 16 last week. Its not immediately clear why the cases spiked significantly there.
Elsewhere, there were five new cases in Merritt (up from 3), while the Kelowna area reported 175 cases (down from 224). There were four new cases in the Cariboo/Chilcotin (down from eight) as well.
