An investigation into the killings of two Kamloops brothers near Naramata has led police to a third homicide in the small community.
Mounties went to a home on 3 Street in Naramata at 5 p.m. last night, as part of the investigation into the deaths of 29-year-old Carlo Fryer and 31-year-old Erick Fryer. When Mounties showed up at that home last night, the door was unlocked, and police found a woman dead inside. She has not been identified, but her death is now being called a homicide.
Further details on last night’s discovery are unclear, including exactly when the woman may have been killed.
This discovery comes after the Fryer brothers were found killed on a forest road just outside of Naramata on May 10.
Last month, Mounties said the killings of Carlo and Erick were isolated and not random, and today, police say their deaths were “likely connected to local drug and gang activities.” Police are continuing to look for suspects in all three homicides.
Penticton RCMP Supt. Brian Hunter says the news of three homicides in Naramata is concerning. He also says there will be an increased police presence in the community, and he asks anyone with information to come forward.
“These appear to be targeted acts, and this type of violence, related to drug and gang activities, is not normal in our community,” Hunter says.
In a statement sent to NL News last month, the Fryer family said they were devastated by the tragic losses.
“Carlo and Erick Fryer were beloved family members. Erick was kind, generous, athletic and the first person to help his family and friends. He was the big brother that all his siblings wanted to hang out with. He was a son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and solid friend. Carlo was sweet, gentle and an all-star ball player. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He was a son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew and solid friend.”
A GoFundMe page set up to support Carlo’s spouse and young daughter has raised more than $15,000.
