UPDATED:
The White Rock Lake wildfire has now forced 41 properties to be evacuated south of Westwold.
The Thompson Nicola Regional District has added 28 more properties to the order, after 13 properties were evacuated Sunday night.
The evacuation zone covers homes between 6866 and 8640 Douglas Lake Road, 4523 to 5073 Back Road. All of Westwold also remains on evacuation alert. A full evacuation map from the TNRD can be found here.
Evacuees with no place to stay are told to head to the Salvation Army Building in Kelowna, at 1480 Sutherland Avenue.
The White Rock Lake fire was estimated at 3,000 hectares this morning, according to the BC Wildfire Service. The fire first broke out six days ago, July 13, and the cause remains under investigation.
While Kamloops was largely smoke-free over the weekend, Westwold was blanketed with heavy smoke, travelling north through the valley from the blaze.
