For a third straight weekend, staffing shortages are forcing the emergency room to be closed overnight at the Ashcroft Hospital.
Interior Health says the ER, and the Ashcroft Community Health Centre, will be closed from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. tonight, tomorrow and Sunday night.
It will stay open during the day over the weekend, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.
The ER in Ashcroft is only open on weekend between 6 p.m. on Fridays to 8 a.m. on Mondays. This is the third straight weekend that it’s had to close overnight because of being short-staffed.
IH says it regrets the temporary change to normal operations. It says in case of an emergency, residents should call 9-1-1 and visit the emergency room in Kamloops or Merritt.
