The City of Kamloops is set to host another national curling event.
Curling Canada has called a news conference at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, where they will announce “a major curling event” coming to Kamloops.
Speculation is it will be the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts – the national women’s curling championships.
While Kamloops has never hosted the Scotties, the City did host the Brier – the national men’s curling championships – in 2014.
Curling Canada representatives as well as those from the City of Kamloops will be on-hand for the online announcement later this week.
Kamloops is currently hosting both the B.C. Women’s and Men’s Curling Championships, with the winners earning spots at the 2022 Scotties (in Thunder Bay) and the Brier (in Lethbridge) later this year.
