BC RCMP say a preliminary investigation into yesterday’s crash near Vinsulla which killed a baby and two adults shows that a northbound Nissan crossed the centre line into the path of a southbound semi.
Police from Barriere and the BC Highway Patrol were called to the 9100 block of Highway 5, north of Kamloops, just before 11 a.m. Thursday morning.
“Witnesses at the scene, along with dash cam footage has confirmed this as the cause of the crash, however the cause of the vehicle crossing the center line is currently unknown,” Cpl. Chris Manseau told NL News Friday.
He says a fourth person in the Nissan survived the crash.
BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) told NL News that it took three people were taken to hospital – one by air ambulance in a critical condition, and two by ground ambulance in a stable condition.
Manseau says the Central Interior BC Highway Patrol unit is leading the investigation into the crash.
