Caeden Bankier scored twice – including a goal of the year candidate – to lead the Kamloops Blazers to a 4-1 road win over the Prince George Cougars on Saturday night.
The win moves the Blazers into a tie for top spot in the BC Division with the Cougars, though Kamloops has three games in hand.
Ashton Ferster scored the only goal of the first period – his first in a Blazers jersey – before Riley Heidt evened the score for the Cougars early in the second.
Caedan Bankier scored his first of the evening with just over four minutes played, before Fraser Minten doubled the visitors lead about four minutes later on the powerplay.
Bankier then closed out the scoring with a Patrick Kane style spin-o-rama shorthanded goal early in the third past Tyler Brennan in the Cougars net.

Next up for Kamloops is a Wednesday night home game when they host Connor Bedard and the Regina Pats.
