The Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Kamloops next month will not have the local team in the event.
The Kamloops Team Brown rink suffered a 10-9 extra end loss to the Clancy Grandy rink from the Vancouver Curling Club.
Brown struggled early but scored five in the third to take a 5-3 lead.
The teams would go back and forth from there.
Brown made a clutch double take-out to score one in 10 to force and extra end.
Grandy with hammer in the extra end would get the single and the ticket to the Scotties as Team BC.
The Brown rink — consisting of Skip Corryn Brown, Third Erin Pincott, Second Dezaray Hawes and Lead Samantha Fisher — had gone undefeated at the event in Chilliwack prior to the loss in the final.

They beat Grandy twice earlier in the tournament, including in the 1 versus 2 page playoff game to advance to the final.
The Scotties begins in Kamloops February 17th and runs to February 26th at the Sandman Centre.
