Get ready to start collecting Club-Z points again, Zellers is coming back to Kamloops more than a decade after closing down.
The iconic Canadian brand – where the lowest price is the law – is making a comeback this year with 25 “store experiences” set to open inside Hudson’s Bay locations across the country.
Kamloops is one four B.C. locations, and the only one in the Interior, with other B.C. stores located at the 7 Oaks Shopping Centre in Abbotsford, the Guildford Town Centre in Surrey, and at Pacific Centre in Vancouver.
“Opening in communities across the country, the brick-and-mortar locations will complement the first-ever Zellers.ca ecommerce site, ultimately bringing Zellers to nearly every community in Canada,” the retailer said, in a press release.
It also noted these stores will be between 8,000 and 10,000 square feet, depending on the location.
“Customers can expect a helpful, playful shopping experience packed full of low prices day in, day out,” the press release added.
The Zellers store in Sahali Mall closed in 2012 to make way for Target, which in turn closed in 2015.
There is no word yet on when the Kamloops location might open, but it is expected to be sometime in the spring.
