Get ready for snow in Kamloops on Saturday and potentially lots of it.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning of heavy snow in the area this Saturday.
It says between 10 and 30 centimetres of snow is expected to fall in Kamloops, the North Thompson, the North Okanagan, the Shuswap, and along the Yellowhead Highway – from Tête Jaune Cache to the Alberta Border.
“A frontal system is forecast to move across the B.C. interior this weekend,” Environment Canada said. “Snow will begin on Saturday and become heavy Saturday night. Snow will ease Sunday evening as the system moves out of the area.”
Drivers are being told to check road conditions before heading out on area highways.
